Come hear the dynamic Forest Pest First Detector, Sue Lovering share the story of how residents of five towns in Lamoille and Franklin Counties formed the Regional Invasive Insect Preparedness Team (RIIPT). By working collaboratively, RIIPT volunteers inventoried the ash trees, wrote preparedness plans, and educated residents in all five towns – and had a lot of fun doing it!
We'll get to know one another and share ideas for activities over an optional potluck lunch. After lunch, there will be an optional visit to a once unused rec field that Sue and other RIIPT members have turned into a Community Arboretum – including ash trees they have treated. Come prepared to walk outside and dress appropriately for the weather.
