Measuring black ash

Black ash (Fraxinus nigra) is a tree species that is important to both our regional ecosystems and the indigenous peoples of the Northeast. Join Joanne Garton of Vermont’s Urban and Community Forestry Program to learn about this special tree, its role in local ecosystems, the threats it is facing from emerald ash borer, and what is being done to ensure its future. The evening will start with a presentation, then conclude with a walk to a small ash stand at sunset. Registration required.
