For more than 30 years, the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program (VT UCF) has worked to cultivate healthy urban forests and thriving communities. A partnership between the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation and University of Vermont Extension, VT UCF empowers communities to plan, plant, and care for trees that provide lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits. Since its inception in 1991, the program has supported over 175 Vermont communities, awarding more than $3,000,000 in competitive grants through over 1,000 unique awards to municipalities and volunteer organizations.
