This spring, thanks to the generous support of the Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO), we worked together to plant new trees and brighten up two Vermont communities through the Community Tree Fund.
In Townshend, five beautiful trees now grace the town green, offering future shade, beauty, and ecological benefits. These additions will not only enhance the character of the historic green, but also contribute to cleaner air, stormwater management, and a more vibrant community space for all to enjoy.
In Pittsfield, two new trees were planted on the town green, marking a small but mighty investment in the town’s long-term resilience and aesthetic appeal. One of these trees will be dedicated to a longtime volunteer who has given so much to the town, a living tribute to his dedication and hard work.
We’re proud of the work accomplished this spring and are excited to watch these trees grow and flourish for years to come.
A special thank you to VELCO for their financial sponsorship and continued commitment to environmental sustainability. Their generous contribution and collaboration made these projects possible.
Thank you to the dedicated town staff, volunteers, and community members who made these projects possible!
