Person looking at a roadside ash tree

This two-hour hands-on training provides municipal staff and volunteers with the skills and tools needed to collect basic information about ash trees in public right-of-ways and on municipal property.

Learn to identify ash trees, understand who will manage these ash trees based on their location, and develop skills to collect data about tree diameter and health. Finally, learn  how to use the free app ArcGIS Field Maps on your own smartphone or cell-enabled tablet (or borrow a cell-enabled tablet from VT UCF) to begin a digital inventory. This data collection project can operate online with cell service or offline outside of cell service.

Pre-registration is required for receipt of pre-training materials and post-training follow-up.
