Emerald Ash Borer in Vermont: Current Status and State Response

Date and Time:

May 20, 2021 - 1:00pm

Emerald ash borer (EAB) is an invasive beetle that will eventually kill almost all of Vermont’s ash trees. It was first discovered in Vermont in Orange in 2018, and has since spread to 10 counties.  Are you curious about when this beetle might be coming to your town? Wondering about the purple trap program, or what else the state is doing? Join Josh Halman, Forest Health Lead for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation for a presentation and discussion of the current status of EAB in Vermont, the purpose of the purple trap program, and an explanation of the state’s biocontrol program.
