Announcing 2022 Vermont Fruit & Nut Tree Grantees!

We are excited to announce our grantees for the 2022 Vermont Fruit & Nut Tree Grant! The recipients are 20 different organizations and volunteer groups connected with community growing spaces at community gardens, community farms, schools, housing communities, libraries, non-profits, and more – serving people across Vermont. A big thanks to this year’s grantees, and all of those who applied, for the work you’re doing to get more fruit and nut trees and shrubs into community spaces! These plantings mean more plants for pollinators and other wildlife, more carbon sinks to combat climate change, more opportunities for people to learn about where food comes from, and more access to fresh fruits and nuts in our communities. Visit Vermont Garden Network’ website to learn more about this program, see a list of our 2022 grantees, and access related resources.

The Vermont Fruit & Nut Tree Grant focuses on increasing access to fruit and nut trees through plantings and related education at select community garden sites across the state. This grant program is a collaboration between the Vermont Garden Network and the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program. Additional funding comes from Branch Out Burlington.
