The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation and the VT Urban & Community Forestry Program (VT UCF) has pledged 5,000 urban trees planted in Vermont communities for 1t.org. Launched at the World Economic Forum's 50th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland in 2020, 1t.org is designed as a 10-year effort to support the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030).  1t.org aims to connect, empower, and serve a global movement to conserve, restore, and grow one trillion trees by 2030.

The 5,000-tree pledge from VT UCF will be achieved by 2026 thanks to an allocation in Vermont's 2022 state budget and in alignment with the Vermont Climate Action Plan. We're excited to engage in this ambitious tree planting goal and will keep you posted along the way!
